After rapper Kanye West had last seen momentum on Apple Music, the Canadian rap artist Drake is now following suit. Drake’s latest album “Certified Lover Boy” was released on September 3rd and was very well received by Apple Music listeners. Not long after it was available to listen to, Drake’s sixth studio album became a record breaker of the year in multiple ways.

Drake overtakes Kanye West
Like Apple towards Billboard announced that Drake broke the record for “most streamed album in a day” in 2021. It didn’t even take 24 hours to do this, after just 12 hours the record of 60 million streams previously set by Kanye West was broken.
Thanks to its success, Drake is at the top of Apple Music’s top album charts in 145 countries. In addition, songs from the album topped the daily Top 100 charts in 51 countries and took the first 21 places in 18 countries, as did Apple Music in a later Update further explained. Three of the new songs are the biggest debuts of a track on Apple Music, namely “Girls Want Girls (feat. Lil Baby)”, “Champagne Poetry” and “Fair Trade (feat. Travis Scott)”.
Drake’s records are not limited to Apple Music, because “Certified Lover Boy” was also able to secure the title of the “most streamed album within a day” on Spotify.
