Drake has ended his boycott of the Grammys after two years. In recent years, the Canadian rapper skipped the presentation of the most important music awards because he criticized the organization.
Drake has his album Her Loss, which he made with 21 Savage, was submitted for the Album Of the Year and Best Rap Album categories. Drake and 21 Savage also have the singles Rich Flex in Spin Bout U submitted for several categories, according to music website Pitchfork.
Drake has already won five Grammys in his career, but in 2021 he withdrew his nominations for the music awards. Also in 2022, the artist asked his record company not to submit music to compete for a Grammy.
The rapper already criticized the music awards in 2020 when The Weeknd was not nominated once for the prestigious awards that year. The Weeknd released the successful album that year After Hours out with that Blinding Lights, one of the biggest hits of 2020. Drake then decided to turn his back on the music awards. The Weeknd and Frank Ocean did the same.
The Grammys will be awarded next year on February 4 in Los Angeles. The nominees will be announced on November 10.
