Drake is showing more love for The Weeknd.
After his 10 wins at the Billboard Music Awards, the sixth god paid tribute to his Canadian compatriot. Posting a photo of Abel surrounded by his many trophies, Drake shared some kind words.
“10 and 10 for the city … 10 years for me and 10 microphones for the child, so stop playing with us,” he captioned his Instagram story.
The Weeknd was the big winner at Sunday’s ceremony, taking home the most awards, including Top Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist, bringing his total career to 19. He also gave an epic performance of his hit on the charts. “Save Your Tears” charts.
Drake, who holds the title of the most Billboard Music Awards of all time, was also honored as Artist of the Decade. As she accepted the award with her 3-year-old son Adonis, she thanked her peers.
“All of your decisions and the music you make really have me going around and around at night trying to figure out what to do,” he said.
Drake celebrated the achievement by renting the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and hosting an intimate dinner at the 50-yard line. According to E! News, invited guests included Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, SZA, and The Weeknd.
“There are huge champagne towers and several bars installed throughout the stadium,” said a source. “Drake also has nice album books with his favorite moments throughout his career throughout the stadium.”
Drake’s friends, including Nicki Minaj and J. Cole, took to social media to congratulate him on the honor.
