Dragon’s Dogma will not receive the Xbox FPS Boost feature on Xbox Series X|S consoles despite high fan requests.
Interest in Dragon’s Dogma continues to grow after Capcom’s recent announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Unfortunately, a key feature present on the Xbox Series X|S consoles will be missing in Dragon’s Dogma despite many requests from fans.
Game director Hideaki Itsuno announced Dragon’s Dogma 2 during the Dragon’s Dogma 10th anniversary event. During the event, Itsuno thanked the fans for their patience and continued support for the Dragon’s Dogma Serie. The announcement encouraged a wave of new players to try Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for the first time together with old players who wanted to revisit the title. Dragon’s Dogma fans expected the game to receive FPS Boost support on Xbox Series X|S to improve overall game performance to 60 frames per second. However, Xbox Director of Project Management Jason Ronald confirmed Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen I wouldn’t support it. There were “unfortunate side effects” in the game when working with the FPS Boost feature, according to Ronald. As a result, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen did not qualify for the FPS Boost program and will not receive the feature.
The FPS Boost program concluded with one last round of games on November 15, 2021. At that time, Ronald stated that there were no further plans to make any more FPS Boost compatible games on Xbox Series X|S. PC gamers can try the Steam version of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which offers 60 frames per second with compatible hardware. The Steam version is also on sale for $4.79 until Thursday, June 23.
