According to those who played the test version of Dragon’s Dogma 2, this upcoming action game may be limited to 30 frames per second on current consoles. So if these reports are true, then Capcom’s latest game will run at 60 FPS on PC only.
Capcom has not yet revealed performance modes for the consoles. However, in November 2023, the team published the official system requirements for PC.
These requirements seemed quite high, which may explain the 30 frame limit on consoles. To play at 2160p resolution at 30 frames, Capcom recommends an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700-level video card. And this is without ray tracing.
NVIDIA also announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will natively support DLSS 3 technology for frame generation. This means PC owners will be able to use DLSS (and probably FSR) to improve performance. The game promised to implement ray tracing, but there are no details yet.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22.
