VoD provider Netflix recently announced that the movie “Dragon Quest: Your Story” will be available on demand as of February 13, 2020 as “Netflix Original”. No further details are known yet.
Anime movie launched in Japan in August 2019
The film was created in the Studios Robot and Shirogumi, directed by Ryūichi Yagi (“Stand By Me Doraemon”), Makoto Hanafusa and Takashi Yamazaki (“Parasyte” live-action films). The latter also wrote the script. The storyboard was taken over by Ryūichi Yagi and the music was written by Koichi Sugiyama (“Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken”).
Yuji Horii, the creator of the “Dragon Quest” franchise, worked on the film as a supervisor and also wrote the story. The Japanese theatrical release was on August 2, 2019. It is not yet known whether Netflix will donate a German dubbing to the film.
