Dragon man skull found in China

The discovery of a huge fossilized skull, which was hidden in a Chinese well about 90 years ago, forced scientists to rethink the history of human evolution.

About it writes The Guardian.

Analysis of the remains revealed a new branch of the human family tree that points to a previously unknown kinship group more closely associated with modern humans than with Neanderthals.

Chinese scientists have called the newly discovered human species Homo longi or “Dragon Man”, although some experts are more cautious in their statements.

The head of research at the Museum of Natural History in London, Professor Chris Stringer, considers the find one of the most important in the last half century.

According to researchers, the unique artifact was originally discovered in 1933 by Chinese workers building a bridge in Harbin during the Japanese occupation. To prevent the skull from falling into the hands of the Japanese, it was hidden in an abandoned well.

In 2018, the man who hid it before death told his grandson about this.

We previously reported that archaeologists have found evidence of the presence of people on the American continent 33,000 years ago.
