Bioware CEO Gary McKay looks back and forth.
—
Bioware got rid of two of its top executives in 2020, and it fell to Gary McKay to take the helm as general manager, first temporarily and then permanently. He promised that restore the studio’s former glory, and in a newly published posts he takes a look at the past year and what is to come for Bioware.
McKay says he is very pleased with the reception Mass Effect Legendary Edition received when it was released. Furthermore, he is looking forward to Star Wars: The Old Republicthe expansion Legacy of the Sith, but the heaviest artillery is of course the coming parts of Dragon Ageand Mass Effectseries.
He says he has seen fantastic work from both teams (although what else should he say), and also points out that the group of veteran developers who work with Dragon Age focuses on a “single-player experience built on choices that matter”.
Bioware has been very careful to point out the game’s single player focus in recent times, after reports that it was initially intended to have a multiplayer focus and perhaps especially in view of the failure that was Anthem.
Have you forgotten what the advertising trailer for the game looked like? Then you will find it here. Hopefully we get more material to enjoy in the not too distant future, as EA lovat that they will tell more about it this year.
