Still only 17-year-old Slovak striker became the most useful player of the entire Olympics (MVP), with seven goals he was the best scorer of the tournament and also got into the All Stars team. He was one of the main engineers of Slovak bronze success.

And he rose really high. He was in fourth place in the February ranking of the mentioned website, now it is second! It also threatens the previously assumed clear-cut unit of Canadian shan Wright.

“Juraj Slafkovský, as the new two in the draft, challenges Wright to fight for the expected overall unit. His MVP performance raised the level of what was previously highly regarded, ” writes Sportsnet to our attacker.

However, the joy of Slovak fans does not end with Slafkovsky. The defender of Nitra also experienced a huge shift Simon Nemec. While a month ago he was in 11th place, now we can find him at fifth!

He also overtook the Czech David Jiříček. Šimon Nemec is therefore the highest defender. David Jiříček is particularly harmed by the injury he suffered at the Under-20 Ice Hockey World Championships at the end of last year. He has not played a single duel since, but is still expected to be the ninth draft pick.

We do not finish with the Slovaks in the 1st round. At number 17 is the striker HK Poprad Filip Mešárafter a month he moved up two places.

Sportsnet also mentions the Russian military invasion of Ukraine and how it will probably affect the draft. It is unclear what the situation will be with Russian players, whether they will be able to travel overseas and sign contracts … Therefore, it can be assumed that the teams will be afraid to choose them.
