In the European leagues, the playoffs are in full swing, in the overseas NHL they are slowly approaching. Some clubs no longer think about advancing and are starting to focus on the upcoming draft NHL, which will take place in early July.
Several media, experts and journalists publish their estimated pre -raft rankings. Journalist Pronman from the renowned journalist did the same again The Athletic. A look at the article will strike the eyes of every Slovak fan, there are two Slovaks in the title picture and the title itself mentions one of them: “Juraj Slafkovský rises in the updated Pronman rankings”.
JURAJ SLAFKOVSKÝ
At the outset, he mentions a clever, already 18-year-old striker. “Juraj Slafkovský had fantastic Olympics and became a legitimate candidate to be at the very top of the draft,” he delivered pleasing words to Slovak fans.
He divided the whole ranking into several categories. The first is the expected NHL star and top player in the team, there are only two hockey players in it.
The expected center of the draft is still the Canadian center Shane Wright, right behind him we can find Juraj Slafkovsky, who has improved by three places compared to the January rankings. How does he see his potential and the overall game?
“Slafkovsky has all the prerequisites you would look for in a top NHL striker. He can beat opponents with his dexterity, speed or strength. He can start and end an event. It is estimated as a top wing with the potential to be a star in the league, ” wrote to a native of Košice who currently plays for TPS Turku in the Finnish top league playoffs.

ŠIMON NEMEC
Compared to January, defender Šimon Nemec moved up one place. Pronman sees him as a top or midfielder. It highlights his overview or play with the puck. “He can play under pressure and make great passes. He has shown individual dexterity, which, together with good speed, makes him dangerous when going on the offensive.
He is solid in defense thanks to skating or reason. He is estimated to be a very good top 4 defender, ” he commented on the quarterback of HK Nitra, who is fighting in the play-offs of the extra league in a series with Poprad.

FILIP MEŠÁR
Filip Mešár, who was ranked No. 24 in Poprad, moved against him just behind Poprad, he moved five places. He estimates him as a player in the middle of the team and highlights his speed.
“He is one of the better skaters in the draft. He can work well with the puck and create chances or actions. His dexterity is sufficient for me in his absence of better physical parameters, but for some it may not be. I think with his speed, dexterity and ability to score he can have a career as a top 9 wing, ” commented on the 178-centimeter-tall and 78-kilogram striker.

QUESTIONS BEFORE DRAFT
The big question mark before the draft is Russian hockey players. Their situation is unclear due to the conflict in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. Clubs are afraid that they will be able to go overseas at all, get visas, etc … Therefore, some clubs may avoid them.
Russian striker Ivan Mirošničenko, who was diagnosed with serious health problems and will be without hockey for a long time, was to be selected high at the draft. Whether someone decides to choose it, and if so, when, is therefore very questionable.
