/ world today news/ The completely new Food Law, drafted by the Ministry of Agriculture, provides for the reduction of sanctions for the production and sale of new foods, food ingredients and genetically modified foods.
With the implementation of the new bill, the legal framework will be simplified and full compliance with the legislation of the European Union will be ensured, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The registration regime provided for in the Food Law eases the barriers to starting a business with the production and wholesale of non-animal food, retailing of food and opening catering establishments. The selected model implies the registration of an object up to 5 working days after the submission of the application for registration and the accompanying documents, after which the object can start operations.
It is planned to increase the sanctions imposed for violation of the provisions of the food safety legislation, in order to increase the effectiveness of the control of their implementation.
At the same time, there is an amendment in the law, which may lead to a serious debate before the adoption of the new Food Law becomes a fact. It is proposed to reduce the amount of property penalties for the production and sale of new food or a new food ingredient, genetically modified food, GMO for use in or as food or food containing ingredients produced from GMO and for placing on the market or using unauthorized primary smoking condensates and primary tar fractions in or on foods or in the manufacture of derived smoking flavorings. The period for public discussion is one month, and the expectations are that the adoption of the new law will be carried out by the National Assembly in the fall.
