Dracénie undertakes a survey on mobility » PACA economic and political newsletter

Dracénie has undertaken a mobility survey with its neighbors to learn about the travel habits of its inhabitants (mode and reason for travel, opinions on existing means of transport).

The goal is to have an overview of travel practices and needs at a given moment in order to be able to imagine mobility solutions that meet the expectations of the inhabitants of the area. The scope of the investigation is not limited to Dracénie alone, as the trips often go beyond its administrative limits. Consequently, DPVa has joined forces with its neighbors to be able to carry out this survey, in particular inter-municipalities of the Alpes-Maritimes department, but also the department itself, with which there are significant travel flows. For this reason, the Department of the Maritime Alps is conducting the investigations and drafting the letters that will be sent to the inhabitants.

Thus, this survey on the “Côte d’Azur – Est Var” mobility started on September 27 and will last 6 months. Nearly 20,800 people will be randomly selected to answer the survey questions. The answers provided will be essential for identifying the necessary improvements and the services to be developed to improve the mobility of the inhabitants. The questionnaire will also make it possible to identify all the trips made on a working day in the area by all members of a family unit over the age of 5, regardless of the vehicle or method used (on foot, by car, by bicycle, by bus, train, tram, motorcycle) and the reason for the trip (work, study, visits, leisure, assistance, shopping, etc.). Volunteers over 15 who wish to do so will also be offered a questionnaire on weekend trips, as well as another focusing on active modes (walking, cycling, scootering, etc.).

In Dracénie, the interviews are carried out at home or by telephone, by investigators from the ALYCE research office. Families will first receive a letter confirming their selection. After the deal, the investigator makes an appointment. In the event of a physical meeting, the interviewer is required to present their professional card. As part of this public interest investigation, the confidentiality of the information provided is strictly guaranteed.
