“Vaccines are designed for the original version of the virus and cannot be as effective as the original. It was initially clear that vaccination prevented symptomatic disease in 94-96% of people. Then came Delta and that percentage dropped to 70%, now with Omicron it’s falling even lower. 63% is protection when a person is vaccinated, compared to those who have not been vaccinated in terms of prevalence. Just over 70% are protection against serious illness and over 90% are protection against death. Yes, it is a fact that people who have been vaccinated and people who have been ill can get sick again, “he explained.
According to Dr. Simidchiev, the probability that people who were vaccinated at the beginning of 2021 and did not get sick during this period are protected is not very high. He reminded that the booster dose significantly increases protection.
