…I would like to comment again on the situation in our country and the behavior of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov. Yesterday he stated that the soldiers of NATO countries in Bulgaria will be increased as much as four times. Can you imagine? Fourfold increase in foreign troops on Bulgarian territory.
Yes, people on the right will say these are allied and partner country troops. But even so, please, let’s remember – how many allied troops were there on our territory at the time of the Warsaw Pact? Except for studies, none. The People’s Republic of Bulgaria was guarded primarily and exclusively by the Bulgarian People’s Army, which at one point numbered more than 150,000 bayonets. Today, the Bulgarian army can, unfortunately, fill the “Vasil Levski” National Stadium, and foreign troops are walking in our country – Americans, Italians, Dutch, even Albanians, please!? Like in an occupied country! Who can guarantee us, the Bulgarians, that in the event of a political development that is inconvenient for our so-called partners – and if we really have a democracy, it is normal for this to happen – these “partner” troops will not act in the direction of influencing of our political life and to trample on the freedom and expression of will of the Bulgarian citizens?!…
