Dr Reisa Reveals How to Break the Covid-19 Transmission Chain

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Covid-19 Handling Task Force emphasized that vaccination is one of the most effective ways to break the chain of transmission of the Covid-19 outbreak.

This was stated by Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Reisa Broto Asmoro in a virtual press conference at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday (16/10/2020).

“Vaccination is a powerful way to break the chain of disease transmission, including Covid-19,” said Reisa.

Reisa argues, vaccination can provide artificial immunity which in turn makes people immune to certain diseases. Immunity, he said, also increases when vaccination is carried out.

“In this very important mission, the government ensures that the vaccines developed and prepared are safe. They have high or maximum efficacy and are widely accepted by the public,” he said.

For information, the government has succeeded in securing a commitment to supply 213.1 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. This vaccine comes from four foreign pharmaceutical companies.

The vaccines that have been secured include the Sinovac Vaccine, the A42 / Sinopharm Vaccine, CanSino, and AstraZeneca. The vaccination is planned for 160 million Indonesians starting in November 2020.
