Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud: A Legend in Science and Faith

Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud (1921-2009) was known by everyone, and with time he turned into a public figure, especially after he presented his famous program “Science and Faith”, which was broadcast for more than 20 years.

Mustafa Mahmoud was an outstanding student, but he was aware that grades in and of themselves are not a measure of a person’s excellence or success. He entered the Faculty of Medicine, but he did not like it, according to his daughter, Amal Mustafa Mahmoud, that some students now grieve deeply because they did not get high grades. In high school, and they thought that it was the end of the world, he used to tell them, What makes them know that good lies, for God may write for you success in what you think there is no success in it.

Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud studied at Tanta Secondary School, from which he entered the Faculty of Medicine in 1953 and graduated in 1960.

He excelled in the world of medicine, but he loved literature and journalism, so he worked with literature and excelled in it and worked in journalism, until in the end he left medicine for her sake.

Away from medicine, Mustafa Mahmoud wrote nearly 90 books, including scientific, religious, philosophical, social and political books, in addition to tales, plays and travel stories.

His style was characterized by attractiveness, depth and simplicity, and Mustafa Mahmoud was the presenter of more than 400 episodes of his TV program (Science and Faith).

Among his most famous books and stories are: “Reflections on God’s World,” “Islam in a Trench,” “A Visit to Heaven and Hell,” “The Greats of This World and the Greats of the Hereafter,” “Anbar 7,” “The People’s Cluster,” and “The Impossible.” And “Man Below Zero,” “A Dialogue with My Atheist Friend,” “The Spider,” “The Smell of Blood,” “Political Circus Games,” “Israel the Beginning and the End,” and “Eating Bread.”
