Karlstein /Würzburg (POW) Bishop Dr. Franz Jung has Dr. Krzysztof Sierpien (60), pastor of Dettingen and Großwelzheim in the Kahl am Main – Karlstein am Main subdivision in the Alzenau pastoral area, also appointed part-time pastor for the Polish Mission with effect from January 1, 2023.
The technical supervisor is the head of the Polish Mission, currently Rev. Walenty Cugier. The place of work is still Karlstein am Main-Dettingen. Sierpien was born in 1963 in Miedzyrzec Podlaski, Poland. On June 11, 1988 he was ordained a priest in Siedlce. In 2000 he came to the Diocese of Würzburg and worked as a priest to help in Kahl. He was then employed in the parishes of Fladungen, Brüchs, Oberfladungen and in the Kuratie Leubach, where he became parish administrator in 2002. In 2007 Sierpien was incardinated in the diocese of Würzburg and appointed pastor. In the same year he was released to do his doctorate. In 2009 Sierpien earned his doctorate in Catholic theology. He was then used to help in the parish community “Sankt Michael im Thulbatal, Oberthulba”. Sierpien has been the pastor of Großwelzheim and Dettingen since 2010.
