Hesse, Germany – The Hessian state government has awarded the prestigious Dr. Horst Schmidt sports scholarships to five young volunteers who have shown exceptional commitment to their sports clubs. Laura Kipp, from SV Germania 1920 Ockstadt, is a versatile athlete involved in various sports, including gymnastics, soccer, and ultimate frisbee. She is currently studying educational sciences and trains children’s and apparatus gymnastics groups.
Jasmin Koser, from ASC Darmstadt, is a passionate track and field athlete dedicated to promoting inclusion in sports. She has been a trainer for children and young people since 2011, focusing on inclusive training for hearing-impaired athletes.
Luca Schmidt, from SG Egelsbach, is an important volunteer in his club, taking on various roles as a trainer in gymnastics, parkour, and high diving. He is also involved in advocating for the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Hannah Wintershoff, from the Hessian Ski Association, is a sporting all-round talent involved in athletics, skiing, soccer, swimming, and tennis. She works as an assistant trainer and is pursuing a master’s degree in economic geography.
To be eligible for the Dr. Horst Schmidt grant, applicants must have volunteered for at least two years in Hessian sports clubs, beyond an honorary position, and express their commitment to continue their voluntary work in the future.
