Dr Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch

Thunderbolt this Friday June 26 in the evening since Twitch announced that it had banned one of its biggest affiliate streamers, Dr Disrespect. The official reasons are still unknown at the moment, but the ban seems to be definitive, as are the measures taken simultaneously.

After announcing that it will tighten up its copyright conditions and promise to ban streamers who do not comply, Twitch has launched a new bomb in recent hours. Dr Disrespect, one of his usual gondola heads, is banned from the platform. The reasons have not yet been officially revealed by Twitch, but several sources like Slasher or Shannon Liao (from The Verge) claim that this ban is very definitive, and that it is precisely not related to the concerns of copyright – implied, “something much more serious and proven”.

It’s not the first time that Dr. Disrespect has been talked about and his Twitch channel has been banned. This had already been the case at the E3 2019 show during which the streamer had launched his live at the event toilet. But this time, the Amazon platform seems determined not to let it go since the streamer’s subscribers have already received an email indicating that their possible subscription would be refunded. In continuity, it would seem that its various partnerships with the platforms are broken. Finally, we can imagine that he will not finish touching the dividends of its exclusive contract with Twitch, which still amounts to around $ 10 million per year.
Anyway, yet another streamer trolling or much more serious act, Twitch has very little appreciated. We will surely know more in the hours or days to come.
