DPS dismissed Delyan Peevski as chairman and expelled him from the party – 2024-08-27 16:18:14

DPS released Delyan Peevski as chairman and expelled him from the party during a meeting of the central operational bureau, the movement announced.

Halil Letifov, Iskra Mihailova-Koparova, Yordan Tsonev, Stanislav Anastasov were removed as vice-presidents and also expelled from the party. Hamid Hamid, Radoslav Revanski and Erten Anisova were also excluded.

New samples of DPS stamps have been approved and the previous ones have been cancelled.

“The systemic violation by the above-mentioned persons of the Party Statute, the failure to implement the decisions of the National Conference, the collective bodies of the party and the honorary chairman of the DPS put at risk not just the unity of the party, but its existence with the ideas and philosophy of the founder of the party – Dr. Ahmed Dogan, enshrined in the Statute of the DPS and the program documents”, the party states.

They add that the relevant provisions of the statute of the DPS give grounds to the honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan and the Central Operational Bureau to return the normal functioning of the party and its collective bodies and structures in order to overcome these risks and for the party to effectively and fully participate in the political country life.

On July 10, Ahmed Dogan called for the resignation of Delyan Peevski and wrote that there was an attempt at an internal party coup in the DPS “in order to use party power for personal and group interests and, above all, to change the political profile of the party.”

A response followed from Peevski, who announced that no one could stop the new beginning.

After that, Ahmed Dogan was unable to gather a majority to convene a meeting of the Central Operations Bureau and make its decisions legitimate.
