DPR Pushes for Severe Punishment in Parigi Moutong ABG Case

Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) Police Chief Inspector General Agus Nugroho mentioned the 15-year-old ABG case in Parigi Moutong not rape, but sexual intercourse with a minor. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni, said that whatever the term, the perpetrators must be severely punished.

“Oh, Mr. Central Sulawesi Regional Police, what are the names of minors and 11 people suspected of being the perpetrators of intercourse. Whatever name you want to call them, they must be severely punished, 11 people are barbaric,” Sahroni told reporters, Thursday (1/ 6/2023).

Sahroni asked Agus not to use many other languages ​​and to focus on exposing cases. He pushed for the perpetrators to be severely punished.



“Mr. Kapolda take it firmly, don’t use more languages. The law is as severe as possible, period. Whatever the name, the point is, the law is severe,” he said.

“It’s sad to see that underage children have been treated so heinously,” he added.

In addition, Sahroni asked that the suspicion that the Brimob person was one of the perpetrators be immediately exposed in a clear manner. He wants this case to be explained transparently to the public.

“Regarding the presumption of innocence by Brimob members, if indeed there is not enough evidence during the examination, then convey it to the public so that it is clear why in the beginning there were allegations that the 11 people were including Brimob elements. It must be very transparent so that the public knows carefully,” he said.

Previously, the Head of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Inspector General Agus Nugroho, emphasized that the case in Parigi Moutong not rape but sexual intercourse with a minor. The main reason, according to the police, was that there was no violence or threats of violence behind it.

“In this case there was no element of violence, threats or threats of violence including threats against the victim. In terms of being carried out jointly, from the examination it was clear and unequivocal that these crimes were committed separately, not jointly. -same,” said Inspector General Agus in a press conference quoted on Thursday (1/6/2023).
