DPR Confusion Listening to Family Testimony on FPI Corpse

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Vice Chairman Commission III DPR RI Desmond Junaidi Mahesa said his commission was confused in his position after hearing the testimony and explanations of the families and lawyers of the victims who died in clashes between police and members of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT) on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, around Karawang, West Java.

Therefore, he hopes to return to a meeting with the victim’s family and lawyer to discuss more details.

“In the future, we hope that we can schedule the meeting in more detail, so that we can take the right position. If this is what we want, what do we want to be confused about, this is the position of Commission III. [DPR], “said Desmond in the General Hearing Meeting (RDPU) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Thursday (10/12).

The Gerindra Party politician said there were a number of interesting notes submitted by the family and lawyers of the victims who died in the clash between the police and FPI members on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

According to him, the note will complement the views of Commission III of the DPR in addressing the two versions of information regarding the clash between the police and FPI members on the existing Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

“What was presented was evidence that complements all incidents from two different sources of information, which was the police and the FPI,” said Desmond.

During the hearing, the families of the victims had told the condition of the bodies who died in the clash between the police and FPI members on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road around Karawang to Commission III of the DPR.

The family of the late Muhammad Suci Khadavi Poetra, Anandra, said there were three gunshot wounds to the chest of the victim. He admitted that he got the story from his father who took part in bathing Khadavi before he was buried.

“The wound was like being shot at close range. My father told me that with tears in his eyes, there were three gunshot wounds to the chest,” said Anandra at Commission III of the DPR, Thursday (10/12).

Meanwhile, the family of the late Lutfil Hakim, Zainuri, said there were gunshot wounds of four holes in Luthfil’s chest.

He admitted that he saw the wound on Luthfil’s genitals. Zainuri suspected that the wound had been trampled on. In addition, a number of wounds were found on several other parts of Luthfil’s body.

“I saw when I was bathed, watched as if I was tortured, on my back like a fist, my genitals were trampled on and cheeks were swollen blue, my hands were peeled off, shots from close range, four holes. [di dada], penetrate backwards. The skin on the back is the same here (on the chest) peeling off, “said Zainur.

The family of the late Andi Oktiawan, Umar, also claimed to have found gunshot wounds on Andi’s body. According to him, some of the wounds on Andi’s body were the result of sadistic actions.

“I saw the bath, I can’t imagine, it was so sadistic, the shooting was clear at close range, eye conditions. There were so many shots to the body there were four in his body, one hole was translucent, I knew the hole was behind him, bruised eyes,” he said.

In addition, the families of the victims also said that the belongings of their family members had not been returned by the police to date.

“The KTP items were not there [dikembalikan]Moreover, my KTP and the usual bag are my children carrying a bag, carrying a cellphone, etc., also don’t wear clothes [dikembalikan], “said Zainuri.

Meanwhile, Umar and the late Muhammad Reza’s sister, Septi, said police should have returned her nephew’s belongings.

“Of course, from all of my friends, not a single item that I received, yes, it has the deceased, even it is still active sir, yes I am confused if it should be returned,” said Umar.

Anandra conveyed the same thing. According to him, Khadavi’s belongings such as cell phones, bags and wallets have not been returned until now.

“Our family was not given any Khadavi cell phone items, no purse bags at all,” said Anandra.

Further, he believes Khadavi did not carry firearms as shown by the police. According to him, Khadavi’s job was only to control Rizieq, not to wage war.

“We want to make it clear that our children do not carry any weapons, be it any pistols that are informed in the media, because what for it is good intentions not for war,” said Anandra.

Separately, the head of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim), Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, promised a transparent and professional legal process. That is because the police involve the public’s role by opening a complaint service through the Hotline.

Anyone who has information related to the case, continued Listyo, is welcome to contact investigators or report via the Hotline.

“We provide space for the public, which will provide information in the form of direct information that can be given to investigators at the Criminal Investigation Unit, or through the Hotline that we have prepared with the number 081284298228,” Listyo said in a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday (10 / 12).

He promised to be transparent and professional in investigating the case. This is because, said Listyo, the victim of the assault was a policeman on duty at Polda Metro Jaya.

Meanwhile, regarding the victim’s personal belongings, the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Andi Rian Djajadi confirmed that all of this was still held by the police as evidence so that it could not be handed over to the family.

“The evidence is that,” said Andi Rian Djajadi when confirmed, last Thursday afternoon.

Andi did not elaborate on the reason his party helped secure the cellphone as evidence. Andi explained that the police also secured a number of other pieces of evidence, including clothing and personal identity cards.
