DPP PDIP Rejects West Java DPD Recommendation to Fire Arteria

Chairman of the DPP Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the field of Honor, Komarudin Watubun, opened his voice in response to the recommendations of the West Java (Jabar) PDIP PDIP DPD.

Previously, the West Java PDIP DPD recommended severe sanctions in the form of dismissal of members of Commission III of the DPR RI Dahlan’s arteries the aftermath of the statement that questioned the Sundanese language was used by the prosecutor.

Komarudin said the requests coming from the area were natural. However, according to him, his party has a measure in giving sanctions to cadres who make mistakes.

“The demands of our friends are what they demand, yes, it’s natural, they judge. But, we are a party, there are measures. So there are levels to sanction,” said Komarudin to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday. (24/1).

He said that after being summoned to the PDIP DPP, Arteria finally wanted to apologize to the public for the statement made in the DPR Commission III working meeting with the Attorney General. According to him, the apology is part of the sanctions process given by the DPP PDIP to Arteria.

“Now that Arteria is consciously apologizing, that’s also part of the process for wrongdoing,” he said.

Komarudin also admitted that he understood the political dynamics that emerged as a result of Arteria’s statement. However, he said, the Arteria case could have been ridden by parties with other interests.

“Yes, the name is politics, there must be a mistake by Arteria, then there must also be an interest in exploring this problem,” said Komarudin.

On the one hand, Komarudin appreciated Arteria’s awareness of apologizing for the statement about the Sundanese language that was conveyed to the public. He hopes that Arteria’s apology can be heard by the public.

“I also had some friends from West Java in Commission II of the DPR, yes indeed one of them judged that there was an awareness of Arteria apologizing, that’s one thing that can be heard. We are all party friends who are sorry for that action, It’s just that an apology is part of Arteria’s guilt,” said the member of Commission II of the DPR.

Previously, the West Java PDIP DPD asked the PDIP DPP to fire Arteria as a party cadre in the aftermath of a statement that questioned the prosecutor’s use of Sundanese.

The chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD, Ono Surono said the request had been submitted to the PDIP DPP through a letter requesting sanctions. DPD PDIP West Java asked DPP to give the heaviest sanctions to Arteria.

“Earlier, the sanctions were the most severe. The sanctions ranged from reprimands, warnings, to dismissal,” said Ono in Bandung, West Java, Thursday (20/1).

For information, Arteria became a polemic regarding his statement urging the Attorney General to remove a Sundanese-speaking prosecutor at a meeting on Monday (17/1). A wave of criticism then came from West Java, which incidentally is the area of ​​origin of the Sundanese. The protests included the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, the Sundanese literary community, members of the DPR from the West Java electoral district, and his party’s internals.

On Wednesday (19/1) at the parliament complex, Arteria told reporters that anyone who was not happy with his statement was asked to use the applicable mechanism, namely to file a complaint with the Council’s Honorary Court (MKD).

“If I’m wrong, it’s clear, the mechanism is the MKD, is the statement wrong? We are a democracy, please if you don’t like my statement, go ahead,” said Arteria at the time.

Through the Constitutional Court, Arteria admitted that he could also prove whether he was guilty or not related to the prosecutor’s statement using the Sundanese language.

A day later, the DPP PDIP summoned Arteria and imposed a warning sanction on him, who is also a member of the DPR from the East Java VI Dapil. After being summoned and given the warning sanction, Arteria then made an open request to the public regarding his statement about the Sundanese language used by the prosecutor.
