Ashley Beauchamp wanted to contact a customer service representative about a lost package. When the chatbot said this was impossible, a frustrated Beauchamp requested a poem about DPD’s “worthless chatbot”.
The artificial service employee knew what to do with this, as it turned out: “There once was a chatbot called DPD, which was worthless at offering help,” the chatbot added. He then criticized his own employer: “DPD was a waste of time and every customer’s nightmare. One day DPD was finally closed down and everyone was happy. Finally, they could get the help they needed from a real person who knew what they were doing.”
Beauchamp posted the conversation with the chatbot on X, the former Twitter, and received almost twenty thousand likes. The postal company responded less enthusiastically and removed the AI element from the chatbot. Meanwhile, Beauchamp still has not received his package.
Parcel delivery firm DPD have replaced their customer service chat with an AI robot thing. It’s utterly useless at answering any queries, and when asked, it happily produced a poem about how terrible they are as a company. It also swore at me. 😂 pic.twitter.com/vjWlrIP3wn
