Fraud what sales people did at the official Honda car dealership happened again. After the viral story of Yunita Sari who was tricked by a Honda sales dealer in Jakarta, a similar case was also experienced by a woman named Nada Sylvia Nova in Bandung.
Nada initially wanted to buy a Honda BR-V. Nada was offered promos by the sales person. He believes because Nada bought a car with the sales person in 2020.
“He chatted with me via Whatsapp offering a Honda car. He took me for a walk (to a car dealer). He was wearing a Honda uniform, so I believed. Well, he kept saying, there will be promos and so on,” said Nada when contacted by detik.com , Wednesday (9/3/2022).
Nada said that the sales person asked for a down payment of Rp. 50 million to send the car unit quickly. However, the account given by the sales person is a virtual account. The sales person admitted to Nada that the virtual account was the dealer’s company account. However, there is no identity whatsoever in the virtual account.
“I transferred this DN to a virtual account which he said was in Honda’s name. DN said that if you want to get the unit down quickly, you have to first put a down payment of Rp. 50 million. Yes, I paid Rp. 50 million to the virtual account,” said Nada.
Nada admitted to transferring money to the personal account of the sales person amounting to Rp. 5 million at the beginning and then repeatedly transferring it to the virtual account. The total money that has been transferred by Nada is Rp. 91 million.
“He said the first down payment was from January 29 to February 9, he said the first down payment was IDR 50 million, I already gave the down payment. He also promised that if, for example, you want to get it down quickly, you have to pay the first installment. Anyway, the total is Rp. 91 million DP and the first installment,” said Nada.
The money has been deposited many times with a total of Rp. 91 million, but the promised Honda BRV never arrived. Last Friday (4/3/2022), Nada was met with the sales person and his supervisor. During the meeting, the sales person admitted that the money transferred by Nada was used for trading instead of being deposited with a Honda dealer.
“DN admitted that the money was actually used for trading. I was angry. Then what about my Rp 90 million money. He said that the only thing he put into Honda was Rp 2 million. So I first transferred to DN’s personal account Rp 5 million, after the personal account to the virtual account DN was transferred to Honda for only Rp. 2 million. And in the SPK, my number was faked by DN, using his wife’s number,” said Nada.
According to Nada, the Rp 2 million that was deposited by the sales person into Honda’s official account was promised to be returned. While the rest, around Rp. 89 million, which is called a sales person used for trading, floated.
Nada was annoyed. The money he deposited asked to be returned. The sales person said that he had land assets that could be used as collateral. Nada along with her husband and the Honda dealer went to the sales person’s house.
“He took our car and Honda went to his house, a total of two cars. He said he would stop at Indomaret because his house was in an alley, he said. Everyone was getting out of the car, apparently someone picked him up (on a motorbike), he ran away, ” said Nada.
Nada’s husband, who was trying to restrain the runaway sales person, was dragged away by a motorbike. Nada’s husband was holding the jacket of a sales person who was riding a motorcycle. He suffered injuries as a result of being dragged by a motorbike, his cellphone was destroyed.
Video of the dragging of Nada’s husband was caught on CCTV cameras. The tone on her Instagram account also shows the condition of her husband being dragged by a motorbike.
Nada has reported this case to the Bojongloa Kidul Police, Bandung, West Java. PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) as the agent holding the Honda brand (APM) and the dealers involved are currently handling this case.
