In Bremen, the police apparently prevented violent clashes between alleged “lateral thinkers” and counter-demonstrators. Bottles were thrown.
Dozens of people gathered in front of a restaurant in Bremen on Saturday because they suspected “lateral thinkers” in the restaurant. Around 40 to 60 people shouted “Nazis out” in front of the restaurant, and at the same time the left-wing scene on social media called for support, the police said in the evening. Strong police forces would have secured the restaurant and the surrounding area.
When the four people, who were classified as “lateral thinkers” or representatives of the right-wing scene, left the bar in a taxi after about two hours in the evening, the police had to protect them. Bottles were thrown at the taxi and a police vehicle. The officials made ads, among other things, for breach of the peace and coercion.
Bremen police dissolve alleged “lateral thinker” walk
In the afternoon, callers to the police also told them that they had seen several people in the city, some of whom were masked and dressed in black, it was said. The emergency services then found about 30 people in front of the art gallery who said they were going for a walk. One person held up a sign that read “Duty to vaccinate, no thanks.”
At the same time, a second group of around 40 to 50 people, mostly dressed in black, formed in the immediate vicinity. The forces separated the two groups. “When asked by the police, the alleged lateral thinkers stated that they would not hold a meeting and left after speaking to the police,” it said.
