Oxford.- Dozens of drivers with violations and fugitives captured were some of the results of a road safety operation carried out in Oxford, in Granville County.
The Granville County Sheriff’s Office reported that it carried out the operation on August 17 in the area of 806 Lewis Street, just in front of the La Charrita Mexican store.
The result was the issuance of 105 traffic violations.
During the operation, 4 fugitives were arrested and several citations were issued for drug violations, speeding, and driving under the influence.
However, the most common violation issued by officers was for driving without a driver’s license or with a revoked license, according to official figures.

- Fines for not wearing a seat belt: 8
- Fines for not having a driver’s license: 14

It is worth mentioning that 43 officers participated and Sergeant Eduardo Chávez was in charge of the operation.
The agencies that joined the operation were the Youngsville Police Department, the Person County Sheriff’s Office and the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office and Granville.
Also present were the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles from Edgecombe and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol from Durham.
