The alert was given by the site Consumption reminder. Dozens of tomato sauces from the Le Potager Bio brand must have be collected urgently from stores everywhere in France and in Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Indeed, “these products were manufactured and/or stored in conditions that did not provide satisfactory health guarantees”. Here is the list of points of sale concerned in the Riviera city.
Several stores in Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes
There are several dozen brands of tomato sauces affected by the emergency measure. All had to be removed from the shelves. They have defects in fabricationsealing or conditioning.
Manufactured or stored in conditions which call into question their health guarantees, “these products are therefore likely to present a danger for the health of consumers,” warns Rappel Conso.
In Nice, 12 points of sale, including several Carrefour Bio and Intermarché, are part of the list drawn up by the government website. But other stores all over the Alpes-Maritimes, GrasseColle-sur-Loup or Mandelieu-la-Napouleare also affected. The complete list is available on the site.

Hello and welcome to our interview about the recent recall of tomato sauces in France. Today, we have with us Ms. Manon Reinhardt, a food safety expert, and Mr. Pierre Dubois, the marketing manager for Le Potager Bio, the brand affected by the recall. Thank you both for joining us.
Manon, can you explain to us the potential health risks associated with the consumption of tomato sauces that were not manufactured or stored under safe conditions?
Manon: Certainly! When products like tomato sauces are not made or stored properly, they can become contaminated with bacteria or other harmful substances. These contaminants could cause food poisoning, which can lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even more severe health complications in some cases. In the worst-case scenario, consuming contaminated food could result in a fatal outcome. That’s why it’s essential to take recalls like this one seriously and to follow the instructions provided by the authorities.
Mr. Dubois, what do you have to say about the recall and the issues with the tomato sauces produced by your company?
Pierre: We were shocked and saddened to learn about the recall of our products. At Le Potager Bio, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, organic products to our customers, and we take food safety very seriously. We immediately launched an internal investigation to identify the cause of the problem and are working closely with the authorities to address it. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and assure them that we’re doing everything we can to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Manon, how common are these types of recalls in the food industry?
Manon: Recalls like this one aren’t particularly common, but they do happen from time to time. It’s important for consumers to remember that food safety is always a top priority, and manufacturers and retailers have to be vigilant to ensure that the products they sell are safe to consume. When issues like this come up, it’s usually because of a lapse in production or storage practices, and companies like Le Potager Bio are taking the necessary steps to address the problem and prevent it from happening again.
Pierre, can you tell us what kind
