Dozens of searches of a group specializing in illegal real estate transactions – A lawyer and two notaries were ‘jumped’ – News by sources

Police officers fighting organized crime in Oradea, together with prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal, conducted 51 home searches to dismantle a group specializing in illegal real estate transactions, through usury, blackmail and fraud.

“On Thursday, August 26 this year, the police officers of the Oradea Organized Crime Brigade – Human Trafficking Service, under the coordination of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal, carried out 51 home searches in Oradea and Salonta, for the destructuring of a group investigated for committing the crimes of blackmail, usury and fraud. Research has shown that, between 2017 and the present, the 11 members of the group, aged between 20 and 60, all from Bihor County, including a lawyer and two notaries public, were dispossessed of their homes ( apartments and houses) several people from Bihor county, through malicious methods, deception and bad faith ”, announces the Romanian Police.

They are suspected of having identified vulnerable people, property owners, and, taking advantage of their situation, through fraud, blackmail, violence, or disguised loans, allegedly required them to sign the transfer deeds of the owned properties, in favor of the members of the group or of the persons in their entourage.

Following the 51 searches carried out at the homes or locations used by the members of the group, at three notary offices, at a law firm and at three commercial companies, various documents were discovered and seized for research, 9 mobile phones, 3 laptops, 4 memory sticks, illegally held pyrotechnic materials, 1,000 packs of contraband cigarettes, as well as 183,617 lei, 151,000 HUF, 2,300 euros, 1,300 USD and 200 GPB.

At the same time, 8 arrest warrants were issued, issued on behalf of the members of the group.

The action benefited from the specialized support of the Special Operations Directorate within the Romanian Police, of the police officers from the Bihor County Police Inspectorate, of the police officers from BCCO Cluj and BCCO Timişoara and of the gendarmes from the Bihor County Gendarme Inspectorate.

The policemen of the Organized Crime Brigade Oradea – the Service for Combating Trafficking in Persons continue the investigations, under the coordination of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal, in order to document the criminal activity.
