Around 9,000 demonstrators gathered at the famous Brandenburg Gate and parliament this week. The police intervened when people did not comply with the measures and did not want to leave. That led to violent confrontations. Officers arrested 356 suspects.

According to police, protesters attempted to remove helmets from officers’ heads. Rioters also threw bottles, stones and fireworks at emergency workers. Dozens of people tried to storm parliament, after which the police fired tear gas.
