The action to increase traffic safety took place from 8:00 to 11:00 and in the course of it the agents took the identities of 432 drivers and passengers. A total of 135 traffic violations, 26 acts and 105 fines were found.
A parallel operation, but with the “wide-ranging control” method, was carried out during the day by teams from the Third RU: 93 cars and 122 people entered the scope of their checks on the Karlovsko Shosse in Plovdiv, and the administrative imposition penalties under the Road Traffic Act were 61 in total.
Among the most frequent violations detected were improper movement on the carriageway and failure to comply with road signs and road markings: 67 cases. This is followed by the revocation of the right of way for a pedestrian – 42 counts, failure to use seat belts or a helmet – 13 counts. In six cases the drivers were talking on their mobile phones without the necessary device, and in another 4 the cars were technically defective.
