Dozens of Palestinians were killed or injured in raids launched by the Israeli army on various areas in the Gaza Strip, and clashes broke out in more than one axis in the besieged Strip moments after the end of the humanitarian truce that lasted a week, and its extension was not announced.

A 4-day truce began last Friday, was extended twice, and ended at 7 a.m. local time today, Friday.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Gaza reported that 32 Palestinians have been martyred since the resumption of the Israeli aggression. The correspondent monitored an Israeli raid northwest of the Gaza Strip and artillery shelling targeting various areas in Gaza. He confirmed the outbreak of clashes in more than one area between members of the resistance and Israeli forces. He said that an Israeli raid targeted a site near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The correspondent confirmed that the occupation aircraft bombed a mosque in the center of the city of Khan Yunis, causing 9 injuries, including serious cases. For its part, the government media office in Gaza announced the martyrdom of photojournalist Abdullah Darwish in an Israeli bombing. The office said that a series of raids targeted the south of the Strip, while the Ministry of Interior confirmed that Israeli aircraft targeted the town of Abasan, east of Khan Yunis, and a house in the Abu Iskander area, northwest of Gaza City. .

The government media office said in a statement that the Palestinian people have the right “to defend themselves by all means, achieve their freedom and independence, and establish their state,” holding the international community “responsible for the continuation of the brutal war on children and women.”

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that “Israel is committing new massacres in the Gaza Strip immediately after the end of the truce,” and stressed that “the truce did not help the health system,” and the continued need for the flow of supplies and fuel to the Gaza Strip’s hospitals.

The Israeli position

As for the Israeli army, it announced the resumption of its operations against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, accusing it of violating the terms of the truce and firing towards Israel, in reference to its earlier announcement of intercepting a missile launched from Gaza.

He also confirmed that his warplanes were bombing all parts of the Gaza Strip, and Israeli Army Radio quoted a senior political source as saying, “We have returned to fighting with full force, and no negotiations are being conducted to liberate kidnapped persons,” while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “With the return to fighting, we are committed to achieving the goals of the war.” .

This truce – which lasted 7 days – allowed the exchange of detainees in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners from occupation prisons, and facilitated the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip.

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has launched a comprehensive war on Gaza, leaving more than 15,000 martyrs and 30,000 injured, most of them children and women, in addition to massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
