Dozens of houses on La Palma every day swallowed by lava

Dozens of houses on the Canary Island of La Palma are still destroyed daily by lava from the erupted volcano Cumbre Vieja. Over the past two days, 135 additional homes have been destroyed and more than 86 hectares of land have been affected, the report said European Observation Service Copernicus. In total, almost 1500 houses have now been swallowed by the lava.

Yesterday, more than 700 residents of the island were told to leave their homes. In total, 6,700 of the 83,000 islanders have been evacuated.
