A spokesperson for the fire service says that dozens of homes have been evacuated because of a high concentration of an unknown substance. They are received in a sports hall of the De Rietlanden school community, while other residents are outside watching the fire brigade and the police. As a precaution, the ambulance is also on site.
Vapor from the sink
A resident of the neighborhood smelled a suspicious smell tonight, and when she also saw vapor coming from her sink, she called the fire department. He is now conducting research together with a specialist in the field of hazardous substances.
The suspicious odor is described by bystanders and fire brigade as a gas or petrol odor. The fire brigade reports that it is out of the question that it concerns natural gas, but which substance is smelled is therefore unknown.
