BlueIndy lasted about five years and provided Indianapolis residents with electric cars for short-term rental – its fleet consisted of 280 vehicles. However, the coronavirus pandemic severely hit the car sharing market, and many companies did not resume operations after the restrictive measures were lifted. Among these was BlueIndy. Now, some of the operator’s cars were transferred to another car sharing company, and the remaining electric cars were taken to a landfill – there they have already begun to disassemble for parts.
