More than 40 people have been killed in a fuel tank explosion in Haiti last night. Dozens more people were injured, Prime Minister Ariel Henry writes Twitter. He declared three days of national mourning.
The tanker exploded in the coastal town of Cap-Haïtien, in northern Haiti. The vehicle was carrying gasoline. The cause of the explosion is still unclear. In addition to the dozens of dead and injured, Prime Minister Henry speaks of extensive damage.
