Dozens Fined for Participating in Prohibited Demonstrations in Paris as Ultra-Right Rallies are Banned

Six rallies, five from the ultra-right and one from the yellow vests, were to be held this weekend.

62 people were fined this Saturday for participation in prohibited demonstrations in Paris, learned BFMTV from the police headquarters.

This Friday, the prefecture had banned five ultra-right actions and a rally organized by yellow vests. A conference of the French Action was finally authorized this Saturday after an appeal to the administrative court. It takes place at Espace Charenton in the 12th arrondissement.

These various bans follow the request made to the prefects on May 9 by Gérald Darmanin, calling on them to cancel the rallies organized by ultra-right movements after the controversy born last weekend from images of ultra-right demonstrators parading in the streets of Paris on May 6.
