Dozens are present at the ‘manifest’ against aquaculture in Ponta do Sol, see photos

Despite the hot sun, dozens of people gather on the Ponta do Sol pier, responding to AZIA’s challenge to protest against the announced installation of aquaculture cages in the Ponta do Sol sea.

Citizens continue to arrive.

Environmentalist associations – Cosmos, Zero and Quercus – and leaders of some parties are present at the demonstration.

On the sidelines of the initiative, the Olympic athlete João Rodrigues, now Youth director, was ‘expelled’ in the early afternoon from Ponta do Sol beach after having taken advantage of the wind to practice windsurfing.
