Downton Manor will return for Christmas

The original series ran on television for six seasons, followed by a 2019 film. Screenwriter Julian Fellowes is writing another film, which is scheduled to premiere on December 22nd.

The series deals with the English noble family of the Crawleys and their servants at the family home. He was rewarded with favorable critical acclaim and Bafta, Emmy and Golden Globe awards. It deals with historical facts and the love affairs of fictional characters and captures the aristocracy in the turning point of modern times, when as a social class, despite all the wealth and pomp, it slowly recedes into the background, because in 20th century capitalism, respect for old families weakens.

Hugh Bonneville, who plays Robert Crawley, said it was “good to be back.”

The filmmakers said that the original acting ensemble was returning and would be further enriched by Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock and Dominic West.

“After a very challenging year that has separated many of us from family and friends, it’s a great relief to think that better times are coming, and at Christmas we’ll meet our favorite characters from Downton Abbey again,” said producer Gareth Neame.
