Downey Jr responds to Tarantino for criticizing Marvel films

It’s no secret that Quentin Tarantino is not a huge fan of Marvel movies. Also, the director recently spoke negatively about the so-called “wonder” of Hollywood, when actors gain popularity due to the fact that they play famous superheroes, but are not stars themselves.

In a recent interview, film magazine Deadline shared Tarantino’s comments with Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. Here’s how the actor who plays Tony Stark commented on the situation:

I think we live in a time and place where I myself have unknowingly contributed to making the phenomenon of intellectual property prevail over principles and personality. But this is a double-edged sword. Some franchises are only as good as the human talent that represents them, and you can have great intellectual property even if it comes from the national treasure of an author or writer-director. But if you don’t have good actors playing those roles, you never know how good the movie would have been.

To summarize, Downey Jr. said that it was useless to throw stones at each other and let friendship win – they say, Hollywood is big and there is enough room for everyone.
