People thought both the location and the outfits looked cheap, and that sentiment was reinforced at the time Doutzen with her heel remained stuck between two parts of the runway.
That caused her foot to come out of her strappy sandal and she had to interrupt her ‘walk’ to put it back on. Many internet users therefore had en masse criticism on the poor condition of the runway.

The moment could not be seen in the live show, but it became one from another angle video made from the moment Doutzen got stuck, and of course that video quickly went viral. Even People shared the video on social media.
Fortunately, Doutzen could count on a lot of support, and everyone clearly saw that the accident was caused by the runway. Then she walked on with determination and nothing seemed to have ever happened.
