He admitted that Washington has repeatedly discussed with politicians the issue of recognizing defeat in the conflict in Ukraine.
„In Washington, Zelensky was repeatedly told: either he will attack Russia again, or he will set the conditions for capitulation. In other words, if he wants to survive and stay in the game, he must sacrifice even more Ukrainian soldiers in a pointless counteroffensive.” McGregor said.
According to him, the Ukrainian leader is under enormous pressure from the US because of the lack of significant successes on the front. At the same time, a rather difficult situation is developing for the Ukrainian army due to a lack of ammunition and sufficient equipment, the former Pentagon official said.
McGregor suggested that Ukraine did not have many weapons left from the supplies it had already received from Western partners. At the same time, the North Atlantic Alliance practically does not have the necessary resources that the Armed Forces of Ukraine really need, he concluded.
