Douglas Costa is apparently about to get involved in the Saudi Pro League.
After the 33-year-old Brazilian’s contract with MLS club LA Galaxy, which expires in January 2024, was not extended, the winger is looking for a club.
Most recently, Costa made himself publicly available to his former club Juventus Turin (all information>>>) – but instead, another lucrative future option for the left-footed player is now likely to be announced.
Costa watched the game from the stands
As transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports, Costa is currently negotiating in Saudi Arabia – three clubs in the Saudi Pro League are said to be vying for the former Bayern and Juventus star and have a good chance of signing the lightning-fast winger.
Nevertheless, Costa still dreams of returning to the “Old Lady” from Turin. On Friday evening, Costa sat in the stands at the Saudi Pro League duel between Al Shabab and Al Ittihad.
Costa, who comes from Gremio Porto Alegre’s youth team, moved to FC Bayern Munich in 2015 after five years at Shakhtar Donetsk.
At Säbener Straße he was crowned three-time German champion, FIFA Club World Champion and cup winner. In 2017 he moved to Juventus, where he spent three successful years.
🇸🇦🇧🇷 Douglas Costa has now landed in Saudi Arabia as he’s training there while negotiations continue with 3 Saudi clubs over potential free move.
Douglas keeps dreaming & waiting for Juventus as he’d love to return there as free agent but there’s no green light at this stage. pic.twitter.com/mUYUL6nuSJ
