Douglas boss Tina Müller is temporarily out of action after an emergency operation

The head of the perfumery chain Douglas, Tina Müller, is out of the job for the time being due to illness. The former Opel marketing director had to go to rehabilitation after an emergency operation, the company said. The 51-year-old has been leading Douglas since November 2017. The time of her return is currently not yet clear. That is why the other two managing directors Matthias Born (finance) and Vanessa Stützle (digital) temporarily take over the tasks of Müller. The supervisory board also appointed Stützle as the third managing director. She has been responsible for the online business of the perfume chain since the beginning of 2018.

Before her job at Douglas, Müller was Head of Marketing at the car manufacturer Opel. She is the inventor of the “parking in the head” campaign. “Their track record is impressive, especially with regard to the strategic further development and digitalization of well-known brands,” said Henning Kreke, then chairman of the Douglas supervisory board, about their change.

High recognition

The campaign at Opel had earned Müller high recognition in the marketing world. Before working in the car industry, she worked for the consumer goods manufacturer Henkel. At Douglas, she succeeded Isabelle Parize, who, according to the company, wanted to pursue “new entrepreneurial opportunities”.

From her time before Opel, Müller had 20 years of experience in the beauty sector, the company emphasized. At that time, the manager resigned from the supervisory board of the pharmaceutical manufacturer Stada, which was sold to investors.
