However, according to television footage, the Polish representative was not standing in the goal area, he was pushed there by Hrachovina, who was returning to the goal after the previous intervention.
“The referee incorrectly chose the place from which he assessed the goal situation related to the position of the attacking players of HC Oceláři Třinec. For this reason, he evaluated it incorrectly,” said Pešina in the opinion of APK LH.
The Steelers could have tried to change the referees’ decision using a so-called coach’s challenge, but that was not possible due to technical reasons, according to the press release. In the end, the South Czechs won 3:2.
