As it happens Milky Way is the coach of the U-16 National Team so he has mastered the problem of selecting players for the U-17 National Team. Even so, doubts are still raised by the public.
Especially after the poor results obtained National team U-17 in a number of test matches. According to Erick, this is a normal dynamic, he reminded that national team coaches have also experienced phases of public doubt.
“In Indonesia, that’s always the case. Coach Shin Tae-yong is also doubted, Coach Indra Sjafri is doubted, Coach Bima is doubted,” Erick told reporters.
“Yes, that is part of people’s love of football. So individuals or figures in football must be ready to withstand that pressure. And produce results. This is what we want to build together,” he added.
However Erick Thohir reminded that criticism must be appropriate. Don’t overdo it, let alone attack the Milky Way personally.
“The important thing is that if someone has doubts, don’t say harsh words. Especially if they attack the family. So that gives these coaches the opportunity to become complete human beings,” said Erick.
