The Swiss football association said it was in contact with the European football association Uefa, the Swiss federal police and the Swiss embassy in Israel. The decision lies with UEFA. The Israeli army has declared a state of war following massive attacks from the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
“It is with great regret that we have taken note of the situation in Israel and the nightly rocket attacks,” said an association statement. The Swiss national team will meet in Zurich on Monday as planned. On Tuesday we were supposed to go to Israel.
The Israelis’ next game is scheduled for October 15th away from home in Kosovo. The last duel will take place on November 18th at home against Romania. Israel is third in European Championship qualifying group I with eleven points.
