Doubs: three dead in the crash of a single-engine plane

A single-engine plane crashed this Monday morning around 10:15 am in the Doubs, causing the death of its three passengers. The aircraft, a Cirrus 22, took off from Caen (Calvados) for the aerodrome of Besançon-La Vèze. He crashed in a wood, a few moments before his landing, in the town of La Chevillotte, about ten kilometers from his destination. The identity of the victims was not immediately specified.

The Doubs gendarmerie was dispatched to the site to secure the scene. The aircraft was in flames when help arrived.

The investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy was entrusted to the air section of Dijon (Côte-d’Or) and to the air transport gendarmerie brigade of Bâle-Mulhouse.

Benoît Villemin, mayor of Saône, a neighboring town, explains to France 3 that, “according to residents who called as soon as the crash occurred, they heard this small plane miss. Then an explosion would have occurred ”.

On September 12, a tourist plane crashed in Gironde causing four victims, a father, his two 9-year-old children and the pilot of the aircraft. The same day, the crash of a device of the same type killed three people, including two high school students, in Isère.
