This now concerns the entire Doubs department.
Press release from the Doubs prefecture of July 18, 2022:
The heat wave experienced in recent days is clearly degrading the hydrological situation of the rivers as well as the level of the water tables. Several municipalities are now under great strain in terms of drinking water supply and some are supplied by tank trucks. The weather forecast for the next few days remains positive.
At the regional level, other departments are experiencing a worrying situation and some have taken reinforced restrictive measures, such as Haute-Saône or Jura.
In this context, Jean-François COLOMBET, prefect of the Doubs, has decided to place the entire department in an ENHANCED ALERT situation. Also, the alert zones of the Plateaux Limestones, the Middle Doubs Valley, the Ognon and the Allan are aligned on the same level of severity as that of the Haute Chaîne, already placed on heightened alert on 6 July 2022.
This ENHANCED ALERT classification entails the application of more restrictive water use restriction measures as provided for by the Doubs departmental “drought” framework decree signed on April 28, 2022. These restriction measures all target the categories of users: companies, farmers, communities and individuals and are detailed on the website of the Doubs prefecture.
Checks will be carried out by the police and gendarmerie services, the French biodiversity office, the departmental directorate of territories (DDT) and the departmental unit of the regional directorate for the environment, planning and housing. in order to ensure the proper application of the restrictions throughout the department.
In addition, the mayors can take by municipal decree more restrictive measures adapted to the local situation, according to the state of the water resources of the municipal territory and on the basis of public health and safety.
Attention is paid to monitoring this situation. In the event of a worsening of the situation, and in accordance with the framework orders in force, new measures to restrict and limit the use of water could be quickly initiated.

The prefect of Doubs calls on everyone’s vigilance and good citizenship to implement these measures and reduce their water consumption. It is recalled that water resources are scarce: let’s be vigilant and save money there.
