Double victory for Audi in the Green Hell

By Werner Hebenstreit
NÜRBURGRING. After a four-week break, the sixth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series took place last weekend with the 54th ZEWOTHERM ADAC Barbarossapreis. In sometimes variable weather conditions, the Scherer Sport Team Phoenix scored a double sovereign victory.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

After four hours of driving and 28 laps, the green Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II # 16 with the drivers Jakub Giermaziak, Kim Luis Schramm and Luca Engstler won. The sister car with experienced drivers Frank Stippler and Vincent Kolb followed the winner with a delay of 21,649 seconds.

The all-new Porsche 911 GT3 R, fielded by Meuspath’s experienced Team Manthey, celebrated a spectacular debut. The two Porsche factory drivers, Julien Andlauer and Frederic Makowiecki, achieved an excellent third place already in their first race and therefore a place on the podium. Further uses of the approximately 550 hp vehicle are planned for the next NLS races and for the 24h of Daytona in mid-January.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The next race of the NLS series will take place on 22 October 2022 as part of the Pagid Racing 46.DMV Münsterlandpokal. The race distance is 4 hours as usual.
